Glycan Skin Care

Research and technology has developed a Glycan Skin Care product that is showing great promise in the beauty industry. Deterioration of our skin can be traced back to a poor diet, toxins, stress, and age. As we look for the "fountain of youth"... one key has been found in the level of glycans a person has in their body.

Glycans are sugars on the surface of our cells.

Recent research shows the key to skin rejuvenation is a plant based diet rich in glycans. These complex sugar structures provide our body with a network that allows it to communicate messages such as: feed me, repair me, restore me, cleanse me... and so on.  On our face, they aid communication between the layers of skin and are responsible for sending the message to produce collagen, which in turn, makes the skin supple and smooth.  Glycan levels change during our lifetime. When this communication slows down and our glycan stores become depleted, we develop sagging and wrinkles!

Feeding our Skin

Our skin is the largest organ of our body and needs to be nourished just like our insides. Two important nutrients for our skin are copper and selenium.  These two micro-nutrients are necessary for collagen production and antioxidant support. A diet high in refined sugar and carbohydrates can negatively affect and deplete these micro-nutrients. Leaving our skin vulnerable to aging and toxic stress.

What is the Skin Matrix?

The skin matrix is responsible for the structural integrity, mechanical resilience, stability, and many other properties of the skin.  If you took the fibrous middle layer of the skin (dermis) and removed all cells from it - the skin matrix would remain. When the skin matrix lacks nourishment and degrades we begin the development wrinkles and other signs of aging. The skin matrix is made up of proteins like elastin and collagen, and appropriate fillers for cushioning and holding moisture.  These important fillers are made up of glycans.

Glycan Skin Nourishment

The results from this new technology have been quick, effective, and noticeable .  The research is ongoing, however, results show that glycan skin care may be a viable way to nourish and repair the matrix without harsh toxic chemicals.

      Here are some results:

  • Helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles
  • Helps reduce the appearance of lines
  • Increases moisture and hydration
  • Gives the skin greater luminosity
  • Evens skin’s tone
  • Improves the elasticity of the skin
  • Refines pore size

This latest discovery in skin rejuvenation is expanding the valuable research in the science of glycobiology and revolutionizing our thinking about optimal health for the largest organ of our body!
